Business Blog Content Ideas
When your customers click on your business website, will they find a blog?
If not, they should. And here’s why:
Without new words constantly being added to your site, Google will think your website is dead. Having a business blog is the best way to use SEO or search engine optimization to help your site rank organically on Google because buying ads won’t do it.
Maintaining a consistent business blog will show your potential customers and clients that you are an expert in your field. You’ll have tons of articles to show just how big of an authority you are.
That blog becomes the basis of all your digital marketing for the week. Have a podcast or a YouTube channel? There’s your script. Use it for your emails. Break it up into chunks and use it for your social media captions.
How to Find Blog Topics
Blogs should be a key component of your overall marketing strategy. So if you aren’t writing one consistently, I’m here to help!
Here are some great tips for getting ideas for your business blog:
Survey your social media followers
Why are your Facebook or Instagram followers your fans? What is it that you provide them? If you don’t know, ask! But you can find out from your followers what they’re interested to learn more about. Then you could base your blog posts on that.

Ask your email subscribers
Why did your email subscribers join your list in the first place? Were you offering a freebie that was enticing to them? Did you meet them in person? Did they want to know more?
Asking your email subscribers what kind of content they find valuable is a great way to come up with even more ideas! You could even run a contest and the winner gets something awesome, like a Starbucks gift card.
Keep a swipe file on your computer
If you’re like most people these days, you’re always on your phone or your computer. When you come across a good idea, instead of making a mental note, take a screenshot and add it to a file on your computer.
That way you’ll always have business blog topics at the ready when you need them.
What are your competitors writing about?
Are you following what your competitors are up to? It’s important to know what they’re doing because you can either follow their lead or avoid their mistakes.
If your competitors are writing about a particular topic, you can feel free to write about that topic too. But there are a few things to note about that:
Do not plagiarize. Not only is it their ideas that you’re stealing but also duplicate wording won’t help your SEO.
Put your own spin on the topic to make it uniquely yours
Make it even longer to really help your organic growth. Blog posts under 500 words aren’t very effective in helping your site rank in Google.
What do your clients/customers always want to know?
You’ve for sure been asked the same question a bunch of times. So much so, in fact, that you secretly roll your eyes when someone new asks it of you. Well, take that question and turn it into an incredible business blog post. And then go ahead and do that again for all the other questions you get asked regularly.
When you start writing our business blog regularly, you’ll find that more ideas start coming to you. Just remember to be consistent!
To your success,
